Antibody Testing Efforts Continue to Expand Throughout San Diego With New Site Opening July 15
July 15, 2020 (San Diego, CA) – San Diego-based healthcare analytics and diagnostics company, Genalyte, today announced the opening of a new COVID-19 antibody testing location at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Wednesday, July 15, in an effort to expand city-wide antibody testing. Genalyte’s SARS-CoV-2 Multi-Antigen Serology Panel tests for IgM and IgG antibodies against 13 unique viral antigens to determine a person’s, and ultimately the population’s, level of exposure and potential immunity to the virus.
“We first launched our pop-up test sites in May, and have since tested more than 10,000 patients for antibodies produced in response to COVID-19,” said Genalyte CEO Cary Gunn. “We are happy to be able to expand serology testing for COVID-19 in San Diego with this new site at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, and to continue contributing to the goal of achieving extensive antibody testing to provide the public, government officials and healthcare providers with essential information on the spread of this novel virus.”
Genalyte’s pop-up testing site will be located in the Bing Crosby building, next to the Exhibit Hall at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., by appointment only. Patients will have their blood drawn onsite and receive results through secure electronic messaging typically within 24-48 hours.
